- 1 – Prolonged or severe cough: A persistent cough has an effect on the upper respiratory tract and blood comes due to rupture of blood vessels.
- 2 – Bronchitis: Due to mucus, there is swelling in the tube carrying air to the lungs. This condition is called bronchitis. Therefore, phlegm comes out while coughing.
- If bronchitis is persistent, then blood starts coming in with cough.
